About the Program: UC Berkeley's Master of Design (MDes) is an interdisciplinary program, jointly offered by the College of Engineering and the College of Environmental Design, that connects technical rigor and design theory with a deep commitment to social practice. It is designed to prepare future practitioners to excel in a broad range of creative and technical roles and to bring a critical perspective to their work designing innovative products, services, systems, and environments, enabled by emerging technologies.
